J. STEVENS ARMS - OLD 22 LONG RIFLE
I just discovered an old gun in the back of my closet. It's a J.Stevens Arms Co, Little Scout 22long, Pat. July 2 -07, 14 1/2" ,single shot, no visable serial number. The gun appears to have had restoration started but not finished.Just curious as to worth or collectability etc? Thanx

Unfortunately it now has very little value or collectability. If it were still in its factory original condition, then it would have been at least collectable. Most of those old Stevens Arms single-shot Boy's rifles are not all that valuable... yet. As time goes by, and they become scarcer and scarcer (especially those that haven't been messed with), they will undoubtedly become more valuable. Stevens made millions of those quaint little single-shots from the mid 1890s through the late 1930s. The rifle you discovered was made sometime after 1920 based on the markings on it.

As a Shooter....its worth at least $75.00...The better the condition the more value it commands..............Best.....

Hello, I have the same inherited from my Grandfather. Mine is in mint condition and the value is around $150 to $250 as seen in GunBroker auctions. What I did was saved it to my nephew for when older. Stevens also made quality machinist tools and as I'am a toolmaker there is a non valuable interest in this brand stuff. Better keep it.
