S&W 686 help

Mr. Blasty
I was cleaning my S&W 686 cylinder when the yoke popped out. I was exerting some pressure while craming a patch and rod through one of the holes and the thing just popped out. Now I can't get the sucker back in. It appears the only way is to force it, which I have to some extent. There is a little springy-pin in the hole which looks like the grove on the yoke should slide over the lock into place. How can I get my cylinder assembly back on the frame?

    Don't force it!!!!! That pin is a screw. Look on the lower right side at the front of the frame. Thats the cyl retaining screw. Back it out and the yoke will slip in easily. Retighten the screw and you're set.

    Great guns. I have two of them and would suggest that you make it part of your routine to check and make sure all screws are kept tight. Some of them will have a tendancy to loosen a bit with repeated firing over a period of time.

    and make sure you use properly fitting parallel ground screwdriver. thats way too pretty of a gun to gouge up
