Authentic autographed AK-47 stock (revised)
How much would an authentic, documented, autographed AK-47 stock by Kalashnikov himself be worth? Sorry for the first name typo. Thanks for all replies.

The value of unique items is pretty much impossible to guess. Even the experts at the high end auctions houses are often way off in their estimates, & they are "experts" in many fields. The only way to know it's value is to offer it at absolute auction.
Of course, most Americans would be skeptical of any documentation from Russia. The Soviet government is well known for it's ability to produce high quality forgeries.

I would personally go and acquire the autograph myself as I know Mr. Kalashnikov.

All right John, according to the e-mail you just sent me you claim to be able to obtain Mikhail Kalashnikov's signature at will. I would say that nearly any items bearing his signature, if it can be verified as legitimate, will have value down the road since the man is getting well on in years. The question of price is going to be based on what AK collectors are going to be willing to pay and on that subject I don't have a clue. Mr. Kalashnikov has been a guest of several trade groups here in the United States as well as abroad and has always seemed more than willing to sign autographs so I would doubt that examples of his signature are rare, but once he has passed on no doubt his signature will increase in value. Get a few pieces signed by Mr. K., have them well documented, put them up on auction here on Gun Broker and you will soon find their value. Hell, I might bid on them myself.

Autographs from celebrities and historical figures on items (baseballs/etc) generally will double the value immediately...real increases take about 25 years or more. I have a gunstock autographed by Charlton Heston, it's been documented with an afadavit from those who witnessed the signing....value probably isn't that much...but in 25 years, who knows. 0 -

Now if you REALLY want something special, go get that rifle autographed by both Heston AND Kalashnikov!
