Modael 65 Winchester

I have a Winchester Model 65 lever action in .218 Bee, Serial #1002***. This is a rare one, I know, and is about 90%. Can anyone give me a birthing date and a range of what it might be worth?[8D]

  Here's what I find in the 2003 Gun Traders Guide:
  
  Model 65 .218 Bee...............NiB $2688 Ex $2150 Gd $1462
  
  Same as standard Model 65 except has 24" bbl.,peep rear sight.
  
  Made 1938-47.

  DOM is most likely circa 1938. Value in the condition you are describing will exceed $4000 if it is authentic. This is one case where the Blue Book (or any of the other price guides for that matter) is totally useless.
