tc hunting

anyone got anything that worked for them to hold the tc steady while hunting ?i am used to using a revolver and the usual ways to steady it, such as two hands sitting down back against a tree is probably a good start. slings/ sticks w/ the tc/? 4 x magnification on the scope is max here. a sling,have not tried yet, would seem promising.

    Any method you use to rest your revolver will work for/with a TC and 4x is about max on the scope unless your shooting from dead solid rest. Myself, and a number of fellas I've hunted with over the years use TC's 2x7 scope and they are usually cranked down to minimum, but the additional magnification is there is wanted/needed. The 3x9 is OK too, but I like the slightly better field of vision with the 2x7 and I've never used max power for anything other than long distance target shooting from a bagged rest.

    If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

    thanks for replying. for some reason,the tc is awkward for me to hold as opposed to the revover, but the tc is so accurate ,versatile and relible not to mention just plain fun,i realy want to use it this year for hunting.i'll just keep at it till something works rest- wise.quote:Originally posted by Contender Man

    Since it's a Contender, I just grab the barrel in front of the scope and lean against a tree; no hot gas or pieces of shrapmetal like with a revolver.
