Field gun. Damascus or steel? The difference is considerable.

In either case it would seem that the gun has seen better days. Being a 20 ga. will help, but the information supplied doesn't encourage me to say great things.

Value might be $300 if fluid steel and in good enough mechanical condition to take afield. It would be much better to repair (restore) the gun than to replace components in my opinion. In any case there'll be no financial incentive to do much to the gun as there can be no return.

Hello"NORD" has it about right if it is BOXLOCK but I am surprised with those PAT.dates and SYRACUSE name that it is not a side lock gun.
