Does anyone know how to lighten a Ruger 10/22 without buying any new parts?

  All you need is a Volquarsten hammer. Hardly going to put anyone in the poor house and a much more dependable way to deal with the Ruger's issues. You'd most likely spend more time and effort trying to save money than the cost of the hammer.

  I would recommend a hammer and sear kit which includes the shims, new pins,trigger return spring, overpower hammer spring, and overpower diconnector spring. Fifteen minutes work - less than 4 lb. trigger pull - for $50.00. Follow the link:
