I have a Stevens 12 Ga. shotgun with no model number displayed. On the left side of the action:The word Stevens appears to be engraved, There is an engraved bird dog, at the end of the barrels there is the Bomb? of the military with the U. S. stamped underneath that.

On the right side of the receiver is the words: Stevens arms company and the address.

It has a Tenite forestock, and wood butt stock.

    Thanks for your help.

If your shotgun is a S by S? The Tenite forearm and "Stevens Arms Co.", markings would probably date it to the W W II era.

It's my understanding that a number of firearms manufacturerers provided various sporting arms to the U S Military for training and recreational purposes during that conflict. This MIGHT explain the apparent martial markings on your shotgun.
