7mm-8 popularity
Why does'nt this round get more good previews and reports. This is the tamest round suitable for deer to elk that I have ever shot and it performs great. Why is it not more popular? I think this would be a great one for remington to come out with in a special run of 7400s. As always thanks for your replies.

I agree the 7mm-08 will do the job. Now tell me why I have to buy the "flavor of the month" & store my 7x57. The 7mm-08 offers nothing new, it's just a new name & wrapper for what's been on the market for 100 years.

The 7-08 and the 7x57 are not the same. The 7-08 in shorter than the 7-57. 0 -
Non of the soft shooting cartridges get the press they deserve. They are just to bland for our society's wants. Bigger, better, faster is what seems to get the hype, just like big fake tited women, just hype.
It isn't right, but if the cartridge and rifle folks don't have some "new and improved" wonder rifle to push they will go out of business. The 7mm-08 was what was being pushed long ago in days of yore and as such is no longer on the gun writers agenda except as pieces in the reloading sections. Neither are the 6.5x55, 7x57, and the 250 savage, oh well......0
