Williams Black Powder 10.ga. Double Barrel
I picked up at this excellent old antique(Muzzle loader) fowling piece at auction. No one had any idea of its origin, anyone ever heard of this maker?(Not Ted) [8D]

Going to need more information....If You can Find Proof Marks and or Inspector Marks please Post them for My/Our Scrutiny......Lift the Barrels out of the stock....Look under the rear of the barrels and post what You find there.......

There is a 10 on each barrel, 6 small crossed saber marks, two unidentifiable stamps (one could be a crown) and #599...

Can You be more specific about the Name WILLIAMS..../ is the Name Engraved or Stamped on the Lock Plates or on the Barrel....? This sounds like a British made gun.....but need to know what the Marks are......Do You have a Fine Brass Brush with which You can clean the Proofs with?...Do Not use a Steel Brush......

At least three English firms made shotguns between 1870's and 1929. Look for F. Williams on sidelock, or Williams and Powell. It may well be yet another less known Williams as well. 0
