Broken Cleaning Rod
My son was cleaning our Stevens Model 62 22LR when he bent the rod, and it broke just inside the muzzle, there is one section of rod and the brush is attached. Any way to get it out?

If your good, you could drill/tap the rod for a #6 machine screw and pull it out. If you can get the rod to unscrew from the brush, you can push the brush out the breach end.
If it's a bolt action, or if a auto loader and you know how to strip the receiver, push the rod and brush out the breach end. Unscrew the brush and dump the remaining rod back out the muzzle.
In the future, get a 1pc stainless rod for your cleaning chores as you have just had reason # 3 for avoiding jointed aluminum rods happen to you.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
Assuming it broke leaving an inch or two in the muzzle, and it's not going to score the barrel, just push it thru with another rod and take it out the breach. 0
