Firestar?

Hello all, I need some advice. I have been wanting a firestar in .40 S&W and was about to purchase it when I noticed on here that Star is out of business as is Interarms. I'm wondering if it'd be worth it to buy this as a concealed carry weapon, my concern is the lack of available parts should something break. I don't fancy the idea of a disposable gun. I had one in the past and let it go (which I've regretted since) I really like these guns but don't want to end up scrapping it because it can't be repaired. All that being said, any suggestions for alternatives is appreciated. Thanks.

    I have a 40 Starfire. Shoots great, feels great in the hand. The design is the most simple and efficient that I have seen in an autoloader. Disassembly and reassembly is easy. Star will not disappear. Go to www.donttouchme.com/star/index.

    Couldn't get the link to work; tried just donttouchme.com and that site doesn't seem to be gun related at all. Am I doing something wrong? Also, have you had any problems from yours? Mine never gave me any but anything mechanical can fail, and as I mentioned earlier I'm concerned about parts availability. Thanks for your help

    Had a Star Firestar in .40 S&W. Seemed well made, pointed well, surprisingly controllable and quite accurate for such a small gun. The disadvantage was the discontinued business thing, but moreso, it is a very heavy gun for such a small one, hence the weight assisting the control. It seemed OK, was state of the art 10-12 years ago, but any CCW weapon gets to feel heavier thru the day, so this one felt like a ton after a while. Kahr PM9 much less weight, very contolable, quite accurate.
