rear sight problem-Winchester 94
hi,
I removed the rear sight on my 94(circa 1927) carbine and am trying to replace it with a carbine ladder sight(Win No 44-A). Unfortunately, the dovetails are not a perfect match and it locks off-center(the sight) to the left and when I center it, it's loose. Is there a particular metal shim I should use, or perhaps an adhesive of some sort(considering the vibration and heat)? Thanks in advance for any advice.[B)]

Hello Lew...
I have used brass shim stock in the past to fix the problem you are experiencing, but you must use a very thin shim (about .005), or you will risk damaging the dovetail slot in the barrel.
