Thank you Sir for the info. I'm prohibited from slugs by departmental policy; although, if you searched my duty gear hard enough, you might help me locate that stash of slugs I mis-placed the time before last when I went shooting. The problem is if I every did just happen to find them during a shoot-storm, would I only get a few days off, or would it be more permanent??? I'm a strong believed in the "It's better to ask forgiveness that to try to get permission from a beaurocracy" policy (from extensive trial & error), so I can't ask what to expect, and so far no one I know of has been caught using prohibited ammo in a shooting. I'm not particularly fond of the idea of being the first; although, I'm even less fond of being dead, ergo the status quo.
I guess I'm in the market for a stainless steel, true double action 10 mm. Does anyone besides Smith have any of them out there?
I know Smith stopped making them (according to their wed site). I also know they had some strength issues early on, did they ever get that resolved, or is that why they stopped making them?
For regular shooting, I enjoy Glocks, but when my life is on the line, I like a true double action. In 24 years of carrying ammo in & out of the local rain and air conditioning I've had a very few round fail to ignite on the first strike. With a true double action, I just pull the trigger again. Every time but 1, the round went off the second time. I prefer having the ability the fully cycle the hammer again while I'm reaching up to cycle the slide.
By the by, although my wife calls me the Budda Bellied Bubba, my handle here is actually BubbaK, not BuddaK. I'm not that wise or benevolent and wouldn't want to offend any Buddists by pretending to be.....Did I type that out loud? It must be the required cultural sensativity training kicking in, huh?
