Looking at a h&K M 770 308 CAL
with scope. I see in blue book
that a H&K scope mount system
is a big extra. can't see name or number
on this mount, HOW do tell if it is the right
one???
Also can't find any m 770 listed on GB board.
IT,S 90%+. any guess on value would be helpfull.
THANKS

The only mount I am aware of that HK made for the 770 was a quick release mount that could be taken off and replaced w/o changing the zero. Is this what is on the 770 you are looking at? 0 -
Toold:
Your 770 in 90% condition is valued at @$900.00. A 100% gun is valued at $1,500.00. Scope mount system by HK would add another $250.00 to $300.00. The HK systems were removable. I know that the assault rifle 91's and 93's had knock off (after market) type removable claw mounts that were somewhat cheaper than original HK mounts; but I've never seen or heard of an after market HK removable mount for a 770. If the mount is removable I would assume its an original HK mount. Should be a mark somewhere on it . . . though. Importation on the 630, 770's, and 940 was discontinued in @1986. In my opinion one of the finest auto loaders out there. The thing to remember is that HK's have quite a cult following. Your rifle in 223 caliber here in the midwest would bring close to a grand to the right buyer. Forget about reloading . . . the ejection system shreds brass (if you can find it after firing!). I've owned all of the models, and they all shot great with cheap factory ammo. Some warble, and the barrel heats up. Clips will run you $50.00 to $75.00.
Hope this helps.0 -
