  28" barrel no rib original fn butt plate wood is 90 % ++

  oh ya its a 12 ga. this early they only made 12 ga. keep in mind this is only the 3xxx gun made

  Browning introduced the A-5 chambered for 16 gauge in 1909, and they started at serial number 1... which is why I asked the question.
  
  It appears that you have a standard Field grade gun. The early A-5s were made in the following grades; Field, No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4. Grade Nos. 1 through 4 all were made with either a solid matte rib, or a vent rib barrel.
  
  You did not mention the choke... and anything other than "Full" will bring a slight premium (the more open the choke is, the more desirable/valuable).
