compliance parts question

I have an egytian maddi ak rifle. How many parts must be "us made" for compliance with the law in regard to putting a folding stock on it???? I already replaced the trigger group with usa parts several years ago, how many more do I need to replace, and what do you suggest as the easiest parts to replace?

Sorry, I know this has been beat to death on here, but I really prefer not to spend 10 years with Bubba in the federal pen.

    I have a SAR-4800 with the thumbhole stock that I would like to put on a folding stock and pistol grip. Can I legally do so, and if so what number of compliance parts do I have to add/change?

    you are suppose to change as many as it takes to be considered a USA firearm. you can change the fire control group, this counts as 3 parts, gas piston,follower in the mag,pistol grip, gas tube, top and bottom forend, this counts as 1 part.

    There are 20 Evil foreign made parts on the list. You cannot have more than 10 of them. Most rifles don't have them all to start with, an FAL for example only has 17. AK's have different amounts dependent on the individual variant. Here is the list.
    (1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings, or stampings
    (2) Barrels
    (3) Barrel extensions (most AK"S don't have)
    (4) Mounting blocks (trunnions)
    (5) Muzzle attachments(flash hider, thread cap, muzzle break)
    (6) Bolts
    (7) Bolt carriers
    (8) Operating rods (AK's don't have)
    (9) Gas pistons
    (10) Trigger housings(not on an AK)
    (11) Triggers
    (12) Hammers
    (13) Sears(not on an ak)
    (14) Disconnectors
    (15) Buttstocks
    (16) Pistol grips
    (17) Forearms, handguards
    (18) Magazine bodies
    (19) Followers
    (20) Floorplates

    My AMD65 needs 7 U.S. parts?

    I think the trigger group had 3 parts. My forearm is one. My pistol grip is another. Is the WASR10 receiver a U.S. part? Didn't Century Arms make them after importing gun kits?


    The barrel extension is another U.S. compliant part bringing me to 7 if the WASR10 receiver is indeed a U.S. part.

    I'll try to find another part just to be safe. Do optics mounted on a firearm count as a part for complaince?

    Hatchettman,, thank you. I have already replaced the trigger group, that is 3 parts, so if I replace the 1. stock, 2. trunnion for the stock 3. forearm hand grip 4. pistol grip. is that enough?


    Another Question, if these parts are not stamped "made in the usa" how would one prove that they were/were not usa parts???


    I know my trigger parts are not stamped.

    Muss, the stock only counts ,if it is USA made, add a USA made gas piston and you have it made!!!!as for last question, most parts have raised letters USA on them, if the seller stated that they are USA made parts, and they dont have the letters on them , keep a copy of the add and the invoice, incase you have to show at a later date!!! i know of no such case that a individual has ever been jepordize by the govt for usa compliance neglet. but if you did something stupid with the firearm and they checked it, they would probably place a charge on you for improper parts!!!! good luck!!!
