Intratec
I bought an upper receiver for an intratec tec-9. The person who sold it had misrepresented its compatibility. The difference is that the end of the receiver is not threaded. Is it possible to have it threaded somewhere, or does anyone know who can do it so I can put the endcap on.

are tec-22's just as prone to jamming as the tec-9? 0 -
If it isn't threaded for the endcap, then what is holding in the bolt assembly? I've never seen one not threaded for the endcap...

are you sure you got a tec 9 or a ab10 the internal parts are the same but the lower is way different. go to sksparts.com they bought the blue prints to intratec, that is where i get my parts from.

How do you figure that the lower is way different on the ab10 than the tec9? I've parted out several from each model and the main difference is that the barrel isn't threaded and the shroud is missing on the ab10. A slight difference is in the bolt, and the recoil spring system is slightly different, other than that, the parts interchange.
Is jhimco saying that the endcap (end of barrel) is not threaded?? or does he mean that the endcap on the end of the receiver is not threaded, which brings me back to my original question, if it's not, then what keeps in the bolt/recoil spring system?

Sorry about posting nothing, I'm a first time user.
I own a pre-intratec, its a 1970's interdynamics KG99, closed bolt, short barrel, and it never had barrel threads, nor is the tail end of the receiver threaded, the only thing holding the bolt &guide rods & buffer plate assembly into the upper receiver tube is the tall plastic back of the bottom receiver, the only thing holding the receiver in place is the pin under the barrel, but I've never seen a tec-9 or ab-10, so I can't say how different the receivers are. I couldn't say why there was a design change, the bottom platic receiver shows no wear even after 3000 rounds.0 -
Actually, the guy I bought it from bought an adaptor made to fit my lower receiver. It is really an Interdynamic/pre Intratec receiver before they changed the name and design. It is a plasic cap and a bolt used to hold it to the lower receiver now. He said it is 100% safe to fire now. It seems like he got it from a company that sells KG-99 conversion adapter kits. The instructions were very professional. 0 -
That explains the confusion... I'm talking Intratec and you're talking Interdynamics...
Parts for the Kg99/Kg9 are slim, partly due to the short manufacturing timespan...
No help on parts from me... sorry!!

I can't say for sure, but I suspect the change is so you
can't drop an open bolt /slam fire part or the matching tube into the newer guns. Newer guns would have a shorter operating stroke, and lack the necessary buffer support. the whole thing is academic, the kg99 is just a big paperweight, looks cool, but does not compare to my 1911 45. The kg99 fires slower, is harder to aim, akward to carry, I quit shooting it years ago. I think M1 carbines or 45's are much superior.0
