G Zabalay 12 gauge Side by Side

I own a 12 gauge side by side that is stamped: Made for Highland Arms Co., G. Zabalay, made in Spain - serial number 246xx. I know nothing about this gun. It was inherited. Can anyone tell me anything about the manufacturer, age, quality, value? Thanks in advance. [:)]

    I found a G. Zabalay in the shotgun book. But they were imported by Richland Arms out of Michigan. Nothing found on the Highland Arms Co.

    Zabalay was one of the many firearms manufacturers located in the region around Elbar Spain. Post W W II era.

    Your going to need a hands-on appraisal to determine quality and value. Show it around to some local collectors and/or gun dealers. Perhaps take it to a gunshow. If you talk to enough people you will get a feel for it's value.

    I rechecked this gun today, and discoverd I misread the barrel. It is stamped Made for Richland Arms (not Highland), which ties in with your reply. Condition is very good. Does anyone have any idea of the age, quality and value? Thanks, David
