help on a williams $5.00 sight please

i have a williams 5.00 receiver sight model 50. what guns will it go on? its NIB/NOS. whats it worth? thanks!

    I just checked thru all my old shooters bibles(10) and couldn't find a williams 5D or a williams FP model 50 sight. Could be older than my oldest shooters bible(1955)[V]

    you have better eyes than i do. you are right..its a 5-D not 50! i just looked inthe bottom of the box. it has a floor plate ad and under it was the inspectors number. this thing is that original.

    I've only one eye,thank God it's my shootin eye! there should be a number after the 5D- and that number tells what the sight fits. 5D was the prefix to Williams $5 Dollar sight, wish i could buy them for that today.[:)]

    Bob, DEG305 has got it right. I've found a listing in one of my not so old catalogs and generally some number follows the 5D prefix to indicate the gun it was made for. Like, 5D-39A, is for the Marlin 39. See if the box has any other number which might help. Williams has a website, "Williams Guide Products" which I pulled up but it never loaded completely so I gave up. You might want to give it a try. If you find any other numbers give me a holler and I'll see if I have anything on it.

    ever so faint...in pencil is some scribble to what was probably the gun it fit right after the 5D. it is so faded, its illegible. my guess would 'ewp or emps?' its that hard to read. i'd need a microscope from the fbi lab to get it!

    The closest to your "ems" or"emps" in the 5D listings is 5D-JEMS and it's for Jap, Enfield, Mauser, and Springfield
