I have my dad's old Marlin 30-30, model 1936, serial number B7794. Any help with the date of manufacter?

The model 1936 was only produced 1936-1937 and the serial numbers on the 1936 did not have letter prefixes. The letter "B" was used on the Model 36, 2nd. variation and is stamped "Model 1936" on the upper tang. Confusing, but that is what makes firearms interesting. 0 -
I appreciate the response. Thanks for the information. I doubt if the gun has much value as it's condition is about 70%. The sentimental value, however is priceless. The last time dad's finger was on the trigger, he dropped two deer at 100 yards with open iron sights and three shots. One with a broken neck and one with a broken back, followed by a broken neck. All five grandsons were on that hunting trip. He was 76 years old and died the following year. Regards, Bob
