seems to me by looking at the prices on the auction that alot of these folks dont realize that those preban rifles aint worth what they used to be say oh a week ago...how long till they realize this and the price comes down?? lots of prebans listed with no bids

It will likely turn out as a supply and demand issue as usual.
Since there will now be more of the formerly banned rifles on the market, the price will have to come down as there will be a much greater supply for the same demand that exhisted before the sunsetting of the law.
It may take a month or so, but I think it will happen.

Went to a Gun Show in Shreveport, LA today. The consensus there was that the Colts would probably stay high at least for the present time. Saw several clones in the $750+ range, but don't know most of 'em from a hole in the ground. 0 -

No. With the Colt, you are paying for the name. The gun is the same as most Bushmasters, Rock Rivers, Armalites, Olympics. DSA's, HK's (ok they made some mods), am I missing any...?
Now there are some low grade guns out there, example Olympic Plinker... POS from my experience.
Colt has a following and will always have a following.
Will prebans go down in value? No.
Just because you have a new replica Shelby Cobra doesn't make an all original Shelby Cobra worth less money. Colt releasing the Single action Army doesn't make old original Single Action Army revolver's prices go down.
Now preban mags will go down in value depending on what they are and whether or not they will be reproduced.

I paid $800 for a PWA preban about four years ago. I doubt the new "post-post-prebans" will affect prices too much. After all, it's going to cost the manufacturers something to pull off those muzzle breaks and pinned collapsable stocks, and add the real stuff.
