10/22 to .17HMR2 conversion???
I came across a barrel conversion kit in the Cabelas catalog to turn your 10/22 to fire .17HMR2 rounds made by BUtler Creek. Suppossedly you just swap out the barrels and your good to go. I was hoping for info on two fronts from the wise sages here:
1. Does anyone have any exerience with this kit or such conversions??
2. What about magazines?? Will .17 rounds fit and feed in standard 10/22 mags--even high capacity ones??
Thanks

I have done the conversion on my 10-22 receiver useing a Green Mtn SS heavy barrel (20"). The 10-22 conversion is for the Mach II round only which is a necked down .22lr. The factory mags do work and it is a simple conversion to do. As of yet I have only been able to find the Agulia shells. I understand Hornady was to market their's sometime in September, but I am yet to see them.

Hello, what is a ".17HMR2"? I have heard of the ".17 HMR" and the ".17 Mach II" but did they come out with yet another one?

At a recent gun show I was trying to buy a barrel for my 10/22. I was told by several dealers there was a pressure problem with the .17 Mach 2 in a 10/22. There is apparently no problem with the Aguilla round. I just checked the Green Mountain site & they note they have the same reports.

Yep - I've heard the same as Gruntled.
A lot of the barrel makers are backing off due to a pressure problem going from .22LR to .17M2 ammo.
Keep off the Ridgeline0
