winchester 140
i'm interested to buy a winchester, model 140, 23/4, 28 barrell. the gun is in very good condition. the owner is asking for $300.
Is that a fair price?
i also heard that winchester does not make this model anymore; would that be a problem to replace any parts in case i have to?
thank you for your help!

I have a winchester 140, same as 1400, was wondering if i drilled out the magazine cap to put a sling stud in it would it hurt function of gun now or in the future? the inside of the cap has a small disk just slightly smaller than the cap and just slightly raised off the bottom of the cap, is this some type of vent system as there is a small hole in the center of the cap but not in the disk on the inside. caps are scarce didn't want to ruin this one. 0 -
Hello matsoukis...
$300 is twice too much $$$ for a Model 140 (which was essentially a bare bones, no frills, Model 1400). You are correct in that it is no longer manufactured. While I have never personally tried it, I would be willing to bet that many of the Model 140 parts are interchangeable with a Model 1400.
