Take ATF's comment to heart. If you take reasonable care, the Ruger will last you all of your life, and most of whoever you leave it to.
I have only shot a couple of Heritage products. I did not get the feeling that 2 or 3 thousand rounds later, they would still be serving me well.
You asked for advice, that's what you got.0 -
The Heritage line is OK for a cheap gun. Like the above guys said the Ruger is the cadillac of these single action .22lrs line. We sold one of the Heritage Rough Riders to a guy and the trigger snapped into pieces after six months. Buy the Ruger..
God gave us all a gift. Have you found yours yet ?0 -
GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. BUY THE RUGER.
I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.0 -
my friend has a heritage that has been at my house for the last few months. it shoots fine and functions well. but the finsish is starting to look not so good anymore. if you want a fun gun for cheap the heritage will work fine. 0 -
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Budget permitting go w/ the Ruger.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
I own one in .17HMR and have found it to be very accurate and I like the safety. I also have a Ruger .22 Single Six. I like them both. I canot tell a lot difference in the fit and finish. I have had the Ruger since 1982 and the Heritage about a year. The .17 is more accurate. No problems with either one. 0 -
If the "SC" in your moniker stands for S.Carolina...Please be aware that some models of the heritage revolvers are not permitted to be sold in this state.. The ALLOY frames that have an 800 degree F, melting point are considered to be "Sat. Nite Specials" and are banned....
