Full auto has been restricted since the 30's with the NFA. Now, you will be able to get high cap mags that aren't pre-ban, and hence, cost less. Romanian AK's are considered to be the best. I just bought one the other day on here. I have a link at home as to what AK is what, and I'll post that when I get back. There are several varieties, and it all depends on what you want. Some won't take high cap mags, but are cheaper. Some have nicer wood, but mags don't fit right. My advice is to get a Romanian AK SAR-1. The wood probably won't match, but they're considered to be the most reliable, and they're not all that much money. Hope that helps.

Thanks a bunch. I see the SAR1 sounds like the best gig. But the WASR-10 sounds like a great bargain. I talked to a shop in Jersey that had the low-cap model for $180 and the high-cap for $270. They had both models of the low-cap. (Not really into the Druganov stock) But I'm thinking of the high-cap WASR-10. Is the SAR1 $100 better than the WASR-10?

    Greg,

I would pay the extra $100 since you then have the option of buying AK-47 compatible mags from 5 to 40 rounders as well as 75 round drums, and stick with 7.62X39 guns for the most compatibility and options.

You limit your options with the .223 guns or the single stack mag styles. They have their place in the world, but if you have a choice and only plan on having one, get the better one.
