Blackpowder misfire/jammed ball????

I started this strand on 9/1 and promised a full report......
I tried the CO2 discharger (3 times) with no luck. Removed the nipple and filled the void with FFF. Reinstalled the nipple, capped her and "BANG." She cleared herself.
I'd really like to thank all who offered such great ideas. Safety was always paramount on everyone's mind. Even the good Captain offered his hands-on expeience if I lived in the LA area. I've never been disappointed by what was offered on this site. Thanks to all! It ended well!

  I've used the above technique several times. Don't forget there is such a thing as a ball puller. It looks like a screw that you put on the end of your ramrod and then you literally screw it into the soft lead to pull the load.
  I broke a nylon brush off inside of the gun one time and couldn't get it out no matter what I tried. I finally used the powder in the bolster hole idea like you used and did that repeatedly about 5 or so times until it actually melted enough of the bristles that the brush finally fell out when turned upside down.

  We actually made a ball puller once - cut the head off a sheet metal screw and threaded it to fit the ramrod. Only had to use it a few times but it was worth having every time.
