Quick value on 28 guage
First, thanks for any replies. I have a chance to purchase a 28 guage from a friend. I'v searched all over the net but cannot nail down a good value. The gun is a side by side Churchill by Kassnar, windsor 1, "made in spian". The gun has probably been fired 4 times per the owner. I would say 99% if not 100% great condition. I forgot to get the serial number from the gun, but it was bought new in the very early 80's. It is heavily engraved and has a rubber recoil pad. I found a few 12 and 410 guages and relative values but not for 28. Those prices were around 400-600. thanks in advance.

Blue Book says 100% $605, 98% $520, 95% $505. Opinions vary, but the going rate would probably be $450 to $500. 28 ga (values reflect BBook's adder) is popular so might bring more or less according to season and local area(gun ranges and variety of local game, ect) 0 -
Ruger: Expect to pay towards the top end. 28ga. guns are on the rare side, they didn't make as many as 12 or 20ga. This is a very popular guage with some bird hunters, and the season has already started in some areas. allechalley nailed the price range. You just have to ask yourself how bad do you want it! Depending on who the seller is, and how knowledgeable they are, you might get a lower price. Make an offer start out on the low side and go up. Regards Dave 0 -
Thanks for the info. He is asking 600. He is an old friend of my late dad. I think I'll go for it. It is just such a nice looking gun. 0 -
