Who here has built an AK from a parts kit?
Is it a relatively easy job? I have never owned one or taken one apart, but have shot one a few times. I have built FAL's and mausers from a pile of parts. I have acess to a Mill and a lathe, and experience on both, Is this something I can do?
thanks in advance,

Lord Yes!!! as long as you know the basic build of a Ak, or have a manual with a blowup diagram. what kind of a ak parts kit do you have???? it makes a difference!!! stamped? milled? let us know!!! 0 -
Thinking about one of the amd65's tapco has or a russian underfolder. Need something shorter and lighter than an FAL. I love FAL's but they do have their disadvantages. What about bending your own flats, I have done some back yard heat treating, so I am not worried about that...

Amd-65 is a little tricky, there are things you have to do to make it legal, like extend the barrel length with a adapter. bending the flat receiver is tough, and you have to weld the rails into it. i would advise to buy a already formed receiver with rails included!!! contact me at hatchettman2003@yahoo.com i can say you hassles and money!!! 0 -
If my grandsons ages 12-15 can put one together anyone can.
