    RIPOFF!, $7.00 a box of 50 cartridges.

    .22 Long Rifle, necked down to 17 Caliber.

    When I can buy them at the same price as CCI Singers, they "MIGHT" be viable.

    Rufe-snow you are getting ripped off. I buy mine from Chessnut ridge for $50.00 a brick delivered to my door.

    MFI I have found this to be an extremely accurate round useing a Green Mtn barrel (stainless fluted 20") mounted on a Ruger 10-22 receiver. Simple installation, uses same mags and fit my existing stock. The barrel was $150.00.

    IS ?22LR NECKED DOWN TO .17 IS ALL I KNOW OF THIS ROUND. HOW GOOD IS IT AT 200 YRS FOR TARGETS?

    Hi MFI,

    About 2000 fps muzzle velocity with a 17 grain, l7 caliber bullet. It will produce much less energy than a .22 mag, but is a flat shooter and is an extremely accurate round.

    It fills the niche between 22LR and 22 mag. Rounds will be more expensive than 22LR because of the jacketed bullet, but less than the .17HMR. Should also prove to be a good hunting round from varmits, squirrels, and similar ilk.

    They are fun to shoot!

    Thats not the ammo they're talking about Sam. The 17 Rem is a centerfire.

    At a recent gun show I was trying to buy a barrel for my 10/22. I was told by several dealers there was a pressure problem with the .17 Mach 2 in a 10/22. There is apparently no problem with the Aguilla round. I just checked the Green Mountain site & they note they have the same reports.

    I had a .17 Rem and it was great on calm days. On windy days I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. These same days I could easily take out prarie dogs with my .220 Swift with ease but still couldn't hardly get any with the .17. I think that small of a bullet just has too many things against it - whether fired from a centerfire or rimfire.
    Honestly, at the price any of the rimfires are going for you can reload the .17 rem for and have MUCH better performance if you desire a .17 projectile...

    Another "super" round in search of a market. Within their limitations they can be very accurate. But, in reply to the one question about 200 yards ... the 17hmr isn't even good to that range and the 17m2 is a lesser round ... you'll be doing good to do much more than punch paper and ding cans at around 100 yards.

    The 5mm Remington being revisited/invented. It was way ahead of it's time and died on the vine. Better marketing today and look at the 17hmr's sales ... I suspect that the 17m2 will also be initially a big seller ... now how about 5 years from now ... will they still be popular????
