SAR1
I have a Romanian SAR1 7.62x39. I am wanting to add a muzzle brake. Now that the assault weapons ban has ended can I legally add a muzzle brake and how would I go about doing so, as the barrel on mine has been de-threaded in order to meet the post ban regulations, I assume. Could any one give me some info please?[?]

You could have added a Muzzle Brake before the AWB Sunset.
Flash Hiders/Suppressors were forbidden.
You can Pin or use a Set Screw on a Muzzle Brake.
No need to Thread or Silver Solder.
