which shoots 00 buckshot better?

i've heard that a modified choke shoots 00 buckshot in a tighter pattern than a full choke. is this true?

  Yes useing a modified choke would be better than a full choke.

  The theory is this... as those large soft lead balls (pellets) pass through the tight restriction of the full choke, it causes deformation (flattening) of the balls. Deformed balls are not as good (aerodynamic) as perfectly round balls (and yes, you can read into this just a little[:D]). It is actually best to shoot 00 Buck through a Cylinder bore barrel, and that is why all of the true Trench Guns and Riot Guns were made with Cyl bore barrels.
