is there a winchester proofmark off to the left of the bbl? it should look like a PW. if the rib was added to a plain bbl, the PW would have been covered, since the proof is put on the dead top center of a plain bbl. if the rib was a simmons contract rib, they would have installed it and put a legal PW mark to the left. so it depends...let me know.

Good morning toold: Md 50 20 ga. SWEET!!! I can tell you this according to my 2002 price guide from Simmons Gun Specialyies, a standard rib, (oval post) cost was $250. If it has the donut posts, that was $300) Out of the 196000 Md 50s made only about 20-25 % were 20ga. guns. I don't feel the addition of the rib hurt the value of the gun, but it didn't add much either. A standard field grade gun with a Mod. choke will go for $375-$475 in the 95% condition depending on the stocks, original lenght, Winchester pad is a +++, or standard butt plate) An added padd ---. Bobski is real close, I wouldn't expect it to be worth less that $400 on the market, and it may go as high as $500, to someone who really wanted it. Especially if it had the donut post rib.
