EAA Witness Question
Are there any gunsmiths or Witness enthusiasts who can help me with my pistol. The pistol in question is a Full Size (Larger, New Style) steel frame Witness pistol. I need to know if the width of the breech face of a 9mm slide is narrower than the width of the breech face of the 38 super slide. On my 38 super slide, I can slide a 10mm/40cal shell into the correct position for firing under the extractor while the gun is disassembled. If anyone owns a 9mm Witness pistol it would be a huge help to me if you could disassemble the pistol and see if a 40cal/10mm shell will slide into correct firing position under the extractor. I looked at a EAA Witness in 40 cal. in Wonder Finish a while back but don't know much about them. It looked and felt great , but are they dependable weapons? If so , I'll probably try to get one in 45acp in the near future.Any help appreciated.

They are great guns for the money, but often have to be tweaked to get them to feed reliably. Most of the time simply polishing the feed ramp is all they take but occasionally polishing and adjusting the mag lips also helps.
You might also look at the more powerful 10mm too.

It just so happens I own one exactly how you are describing. They are in my opinion the best "sleeper gun buy" out there. They are tuff and very reliable. My only problem right now is that I have only one mag for it at this time. 0 -
They are very good guns for the money. I found mine to be very accurate right out of the box. I have had NO feed problems with it at all. Extra mags are easy to find for it. A seller on here (FourFourMag) carries them at very reasonable prices. I hope this helps.

I just bought a 10mm Witness. These are very good guns for the money.

I own a full size EAA witness in 10mm. I have had some custom work done on it and I like it alot. The EAA/CZ hand guns are used in Europe like te 1911A1 guns are used here in the USA. The base gun works fine. A race gun works soooo much better. My 2 cents [8D]

Hello, I have a Witness 9mm. After I bought it, I got a CZ-75 to compare them and the Tanfoglio (Witness) proved more reliability. Besides I got a Belgian Browning HP 9mm and though it is more sexy having a HP, my Tanfoglio is always with me where things could get worst. Get one!

I have a new full size 10mm.I hade some FTF's at first.I polished the feed ramp and have since put around 150rds thru it with no problems.Nice guns for the money.
