Muzzleload shotgun value?
The gun has W&C Scott & Sons stamped on the side. The total length of the gun from end of barrel to end of stock is 51 inches. The stock is dark wood color and in perfect shape. The diameter of the shotgun barrels is about 3/4 inches each. There is much scroll design on the side of gun, both sides, in a silver metal below the hammers. It has two triggers and two hammers and comes with the original muzzle load sticks to poke down the ammunition. On top, between the two barrels is stamped ''London Laminated Steel'' The gun overall looks almost like new.

pvsmith: Welcome to the Ask the Experts Forum and the <gunbroker.com> Family..Yours Percussion Gun sounds Suspecious to me..................Its possibly a Belguim Copy...using the Scott Name to sell thier Guns...Changed just enough to catch the unwary buyer.........Can You supply the Proof Marks that are under the Rear Portion of the Barrels...You can pull the Barrels by removing the Wedge on the Forearm..and lifting the Barrels up and Forwards....
On an original Percussion Shotgun made by the name supplied should read ..
<W & C Scott & Son> and that name came about in 1862....Prior to that it was W & C Scott..This gun needs to be inspected by an intelligent and Capable Gunsmith that has a working knowledge of Antique Percussion Guns...
RAM ROD is the term for the loading sticks........If your shotgun turns out to be a Belgium Copy....Maybe $300.00...If it turns out to Be a Genuine W & C Scott & Son...maybe $1000.00 or More.......

The minute you see "London Laminated Steel" you better be aware that all is NOT as advertised.
Belgian knockoff. Kirk is being very nice as I wouldn't predict more than $200.00, and that's from a foolish home decorator with more money than brains.
See the ELG under the barrels and you'll know for sure.
