Are the receivers for the winchester 37's in 12,16, and 20 ga the same as far as the buttstock fit?

    you sure can IF you got a lot of money AND a good gun smith with all the machinery. I've seen them in Az. 6 barrell set

    I don't believe so either... but I do not know that for a fact.

    This is purely conjecture on my part, but I would think that it would be possible to swap a 12 and 16 gauge, and a 20 and 28 gauge (or possible a 28 guage and .410 bore). I can not envision that Winchester made five different frame sizes for the Model 37, but they probably did have at least two or three frame sizes to accommodate the five different chamberings available.

    That's kinda what I was thinking Bert (even though I said no).
    I've got a .410 and a buddy has a 20ga.Maybe I'll try to hook up with him over the weekend and give it a try.

    According to an old Winchester parts list...

    12 and 16 parts are interchangeable-

    20 and 28 parts are interchangeable-

    The 410 stands alone...

    Looks like SOME springs, pins and screws can be used in all,but not any major parts.
