Need opinions please

A while back I had the opportunity to buy a 'sporterized' AR-15 HB that was chambered for 7.62 x 39 mm.

I'm thinking this would make a nice deer rifle.

What's your thoughts on this?

  I think it would. IMO, It's not really a long range caliber, but it would be very sufficient within about 150 yards.

  I would keep it under 150yards. Thats just me.
