    Using the "E L",it shows to have been made in Oct.1964.

    Which,BTW,was the first year of production.

    A note of caution, do not tighten the rib attach screws. The rib is plastic & will yield under pressure, thus warping the rib. If you are concerned about loose screws, use removable (blue) loc-tite to set them at finger tight.

    Had a Rem 600 in 6mm about 20 years ago, & have regretted letting it go ever since. ENJOY!

    Hey thanks a lot Bobby and Cuss!!
    I am not quite sure why Remington put that vent rib on the rifle but it sure makes it look unique.
    In fact practically every dealer there at the show was trying to buy it from me!

    Getting back to my second question.
    Do you guys know if the vent rib models had a thinner barrel than the Mohawks or is this just a trait of the 6mm in this vent rib model??
    Again i cant wait to shoot it especially since it came equipped with a Simmons 6x18x40 scope.
