New Colt lowers.

I have a pre94 Colt CAR upper in need of a lower. If the ban expires as now expected, I am thinking of ordering a new Colt lower. I have heard some negatives on the new colt lowers not being mil-spec. Is there an issue here I should be aware of. I do have a Rock River Arms lower I could use also, but I kind of like my AR halves matched. Thanks for any feedback.

  While you are correct that Colt AR-type rifles are not milspec, you should have no trouble assembling Colt parts.
  
  However, Colt no longer pushes "parts" for AR-types, as they did several years ago. It may be difficult to find a complete new lower from them; if you can, it will definitely be expensive. And, the resulting rifle will be a Mixed Parts Mongrel; it would be stretching it to call the completed rifle "matched".
  
  You may want to consider selling your upper & buying a new complete rifle.
