Winchester 94 - 1984 Dodge
OH YES, My first Forum question!! For you Winchester 94 (Commemoratives?) experts. An older guy that one of my clients knows has a Winchester 94 30-30 made in 1984. Client brought it by office today, thought I may be interested in it. NIB with case colored receiver. He says he bought a new Dodge truck in 1984 and received this gun with purchase. I have not found any information on this gun through gunbroker, any of my gun books, the "other sites", or anywhere else. I have a few 94 Commemoratives, but know nothing of this gun. The gun has a half dollar sized (approx) medallion on right side of stock re: Dodge and Winchester. The case is "cardboard" brown with Dodge logos on it. Any information on this would be appreciated. Asking $375. Any idea as to how many made and value?? Thanks in advance.

The gun you described is a "special edition", not a "commemorative". The difference is that anyone (who orders the minimum) can buy "special edition" rifles from Winchester, & they are not listed in the Winchester catalog & can't be obtained from distributors. So, no one is able to track these & give information such as quantity produced.
A like-new "plain" Winchester 94 would sell for about $250. Maybe someone would pay a premium for the special finish (& premium wood?), but others would be put off by the commercial Dodge markings. It's a personal choice, but unlikely that anyone would pay much over $250.

I don't make these prices up.
I just did a SmartSearch on Gunbroker completed auctions; there have been several Winchester 94's that recently sold for that amount. If you want one at that price, just check out the current auctions.

No one mentioned this, but in agreeing with Mike, I would add that a 30/30, post '64 Winchester '94 is, in almost ANY condition, as useful and saleable as titties on a bull! My guess, and this generous appraisal would include the Case Colored reciever, box, literature and the whole nine yds., would be $325. At that, don't count on getting any apprecition monetarily in the near future. Sorry, but just not enough desireability here!

Hmmm... a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Laramie (long box) 4x4 HD w/Cummins Turbo Diesel @325 HP and 600 ft lbs of torque that is worth less than $500[:0][8D]
I would really like to see ANY "chebby" truck come close to the specs. of this Dodge truck[}:)]

With the editing from CaptKirk, I don't know if he is under impression that I am trying to sell this gun or what, but I am not. I don't even own this gun. I only tried to find some information on gun and if the experts thought $375 was a fair price. I told my client to tell the man I would give him $300 for it, so maybe I will hear from him in a couple of days. He also has a very early model Springfield M14 (SN<7000), but I am not into those. Sweet gun though. Anyway, I have been visiting gunbroker for a couple of years now, have bought a couple of guns on the auction, and enjoy reading the forums. I fully realize that trying to sell guns on this forum is a no-no. Heck, I think I may be one of those who only buys and never sells!! I emailed Bert H. once inquiring about an old scope that I have and he was quite informative on it. Thanks again.

I understood perfectly what the intent of your original post was, and I was DEFINITELY not implying, insinuating, or making any offers to buy it from you or anyone else. I simply stated (in my own unique style) that I personally think that is worth more than the $250 figure one of the other fellows suggested. If you can get it for $300, that is a good deal in my personal opinion. I am also happy that I was able to help with your previous question on the old scope, and thank you kindly for the mention[:)]
