9mm vs. 9mm luger
i have a lady smith 9mm nowhere on the gun does it say 9mm luger and the guy i got it from gave me a box of shell along with the gunj and they are 9mm luger can lugers be fired in a regular 9mm whats the difference anywayy thanks

Don't worry about it, you got the right ammo. It's a very confusing subject as there are at least ( 9 ) other cartridges besides the one your pistol is chambered for, that are identified as 9mm. Most aren't interchangeable because varation in external dimensions. It's quite a complex subject. Do a Google search if you want to delve into it further, ( allow yourself plenty of time ).

The 9x19mm, 9mm Luger, and 9mm par bellum are all the same cartridge, just different terminology. They are completely interchangeable.
The .380 is a 9x17mm, and 9mm Makarov is a 9x18mm, which are different cartridges entirely. There are a number of obsolete 9's like the Largo & others that are completely different animals too.0
