I see that Browning uses a *'s to mark the choke on thier shotguns. One * is for FULL, Two ** is modified, I think. Did Browning always use this system? Or did they ever mark the barrels "FULL", "Modified" and etc.

You are right... the invector + plus tubes are universal to fit any Browning model. However, the invector tubes will not work in the invector + and vice versa.

    Hope this helps.

unless you are in the marketing business you wont notice it, but it was a marketing strategy to make you buy a whole new product, forcing the old ones to be obsolete. there was nothing wrong with the old invectors.

Jason, Bob - Thanks. Then it is correct that Invector choke tubes fit any Invector barrels, regardless of configuration of the gun: auto, pump, double. And likewise with Invector Plus. I was pretty sure that was the case, but Browning can be tricky.

Actually there is a major difference between invector and invector+.
The invector tubes fit a bore of .729, and the invector+ tubes fit a bore of .740. BUT there is no difference other than the diameter, and a BPS choke is exactly the same as a Citori or Gold choke.

Invector Plus is backbored, the Invector is not.

THE TWO DO NOT INTERCHANGE . THE INVECTOR TUBES WILL INTERCHANGE WITH MOSSBERG ACCU-CHOKE [ NOT ACCU-MAG 3.5" ] . MOSS. ACCU-CHOKES ALSO INTERCHANGE WITH WIN. WINCHOKES AND SEVERAL OTHERS.
BROWNING HAS MADE SOME MODELS [CITORI] IN BOTH INV. AND INV. + DEPENDING ON THE AGE . INV. + TUBES WERE INTRODUCED WITH THE BACKBORED BARRELS WHICH BROWNING CLAIMS PRODUCE BETTER PATTERNS , LESS RECOIL , AND HIGHER VELOCITY .
    CURIOUS ??
MOSS. AND BROWNING MAKE 2 DIFF. TUBES WITH THE INV./ACCU-CHOKES
INTERCHANGING . ANYONE KNOW IF THE ACCU-MAG INTERCHANGES WITH INV.+ , THEY ARE BOTH LONGER THAN THE STD. TUBES ?

No,,,, The Accu-Mag is something like .770 (litteraly 10ga) in diameter instead of .740 like the Invector+
