44 Mag with 20' barrel load data...HELP

I purchased a 44 rem mag Encore barrel that is 20 inches in length. I am looking for 180G JHP load data. I would like a load on the ligher side of the spectrum .

Not sure how barrel length will effect load. Most data I have found is for 7.5 inch barrels. Any guidence would be greatly appreciated.

    What are you going to use the round for? With the 20" barrel you will get a longer burn time for your powder and more velocity. You didn't say what powder you were nor what type of bullet you would be using.(lead or jacketed) If you have a reloading book some will have rifle & pistol loads. But if not most bullet and powder manufactures will be able to provide you with what you need to know.

    One of my loading manuals has info for 44 mag in pistol and rifle length barrels (I think the Lyman book). I'll look when I get home and send that info to you.

    I have loaded a good bit for my 44mag pistols, and did not have any indications of pressure problems with ocasional use in my lever rifle. These were not full house loads with 240 & 255 gr pills. I remember the loading was using about 21 gr of IMR powder, and all were compressed loads. (imr4227 i think... i'll check). It was THE sweet load for my pistol..grouped very well. Don't load on my memory, I'll email or post the rifle load data.

    Thanks for your input. Will use to allow my boys to deer hunt in Alabama. I have been loading using H110.
