take off the bbl. slide off the gas system. close the bolt carefully. pull out the bolt handle. drop the trigger group. flip rcvr upside down and look inside the bottom. take a very thin screw driver or scribe and place it on the spring loaded main spring cap touching the bolt recoil rod behind the bolt. see it? its black and is holding the bolt rod in the middle by tension. depress it back towards the stock. the bolt rod will fall off of it and down. dont stop there. while the cap is depressed, flip the gun back right side up. shake the gun. the rod will fall out of the receiver. let go of the screwdriver. grab the rod. and pull it back and wiggle it until the bolt comes out. you have to line up the bolt lugs to get it out the rail. get it? got it? good! now, take off the stock. put your gun in a vise horizontially. take a blunt round punch and slam out the buffer from the back of the receiver head. clean out the rcvr of plastic parts slammed out. take the new buffer and stick it in. line it up and take a wood dowel long enough to tap it in from the bbl attaching hole. use a plastic hammer. tap until it goes all the way in. now, you might have to file or shave part of the new buffer in order to get the bolt back in when you depress the spring cap again. play with it and have fun!
