25.4 mm to an inch
Whenever possible, learn from OTHER peoples mistakes.0 -
......Or:
mm to inch: mm divided by 25.4
9mm divided by 25.4 = .3543307
inch to mm: inch times 25.4
.30 times 25.4 = 7.62mm
Remember though, calibers are nominal. For instance, 30 caliber is actually .308.....so the actual metric measurement would be 7.823mm.0 -
Take you unit in mm and multiply ny .03937 to get your unit in inches. Inches to mm take your unit in inches multiply by 25.4. 0 -
If you don't carry a calculator or don't want to do it in your head or with a pencil and paper, get a digital caliper that measures in inches and metric.
You can set it on a figure in inches and just click the mm button and it'll show the figure in mms. Or the other way around.
Looks like your question's pretty well covered.0 -
IF all that fails, tell your better half, "Hey baby" I've got 160 millimeters! Impressive! nambu 0 -
As noted above, there is a specific conversion between metric and inch measurements; however the problems come into play because some measurements are of the bore diameter while others are of the groove; others are close to the measurement of one or the other, but are different to avoid confusion with the one that's the actual size, for example, the 340 Wby and the 338 Win- both shooot a bullet that is .338" in diameter. So the best way is to determine what cartridge you need the information on,then ask a reliable source what the bullet diameter for it is, both in metric and inches. 0
