Is there a serial number on the 336 slide and if so is it stamped or hand etched?

  i was just wonder what kind of groups people have shot with the marlin 336c. my dad has one and i have shot a quarter 5 times with 5 shots at a 100 yard shooting range. it is a sears and roebuck, but it is made by marlin, you guys know all this stuff. but i was amased by the accuarcy.

  its the gun and bullet combo that makes a gun shoot like that. find out what bullet he shot and keep shooting that combo![:)]

  My Marlin model 3087S likes to eat Remington Core-Loks 150gr at 100yds I'll put 5 in a snuff can lid.It was my first rifle[8D]. I'd say you got a shooter.[:)]

  You know half the people that cant group worth a flip, are using bad reloads. I owned a 35 remington, which; grouped as well as yours. I always use a steady rest, or steady stick, or lean on a tree. If you put a rifle in a padded vice. It will usually split the same hole.
  I agree. A rifle is as good as the person shooting it.
