Colt Python - 3" Value Please
I am trying to establish a value for a Python. It has a 3" barrel and it is marked "Combat Python" - Colts' Royal Blue finish & is in better than 98% condition--- The gentleman selling it also has another python in the same condition with a 6" barrel- Please advise a value. I appreciate your time in advance.
Thanks,
Dave

THERE has been much debate on "Python value" here. They are smooth as silk IMO, and they are just a "nice piece" to have. Value, wiiiidddeee range as to area for sure. Here in Il. (south) 600. to 800 dollars,,,boxes and all help a lot. nambu 0 -
Take a look on the auction site. Just type in "python" and you'll get several pages of listings with which to compare. 0 -
Mark, I have the other and have posted a picture of it once or twice. I have been offered over $1200.00 for it and can not part with it. It is in the originl box with the hang tag and never fired (box is a little crappy)Is it actually worth the $1200.00, put it this way I would never pay that much for it. If the price is reasonable and you gotta have it buy it. Mine pictured in box at top.

I think those Combat Pythons came through Lew Horton Distributing. Home of lots of neat Colts in the day.
I think you could buy 3" barrels (marked like a standard Python) from Gun Parts Corp a while back, so I'd be sure the Python was the real deal before shelling out the $$ those 3inchers are worth.0
