looking for Bert H re 1885 Winchester

Hey Bert, just picked up an old lowall, rimfire, serial #26611. The upper tang doesnt have the Winchester logo, and Im sure the finish is original. What do you think? Did the early ones come unmarked?

  Winchester did not begin marking the upper tang with their logo until serial numbers reached approximately 105,000, so yes, your new "old" low-wall is correct in that respect. Based on the serial (and my research), that rifle was made in August of 1888. I am very interested in learning all the specific details of this rifle (e.g. variation, barrel size, barrel length, caliber stamp, trigger type, sights, etc.).
