Colt 1991A1 upgrade question
I am looking to do a minor upgrade to my 1991A1 and have purchased the following..http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=22367324
Has anyone had any experience with this company and will it fit properly or will I have to do some fitting. I am only doing this to see the difference between stock and a minor upgrade.

HELLO THE PARTS YOU BOUGHT ARE VERY GOOD BUT KEEP A FEW THINGS IN MIND.IF YOU HAVE NOT WORKED ON A 1911 BEFORE BE AWARE THAT TRIGGER WORK CAN BE TRICKY,ONCE YOU INSTALL ALL PARTS MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFTY STILL WORKS SOME TIMES YOU CAN PUT THE SAFTY ON AND PULL THE TRIGGER THE GUN DOES NOT GO OFF BUT THEN WITHOUT TOUCHING TRIGGER WHEN YOU TAKE SAFTY OFF THE HAMMER WILL FALL "not good" OTHER TIMES THE SAFTY WILL NOT GO ON WITH NEW PARTS . aLSO THE SET SCREW TO ADJUST BACKLASH SHOULD NOT BE SET SO CLOSE AS TO DRAG THE SEAR AS IT GOES PAST THE 1/2 COCK NOTCH ON HAMMER. quote:"praise the hardball gun" 0 -
If you've not worked on a 1911 before you may have a little chore ahead of you, but even if you have some experience I highly recommend that you have a set of detailed take/down and re-assembly instructions.
All of the parts are high end and generally will "drop in" with no problems.
As for the company ... over the past couple years I've bought several things from him and he strikes me as first rate. Had a problem w/ one purchase and he simply replaced it without any delay, etc.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Thanks for the help guy's done one before and am dreading doing it again.

BTW, does anyone have a detailed set of instructions, in case they don't come with?
