243w forest unable to identify maker?
I just purchased a gun collection, and while looking at the guns and the prices of the guns i purchased i came across a 243w with forest on the gun. The only other writing on the gun is two numbers, with some weird stamps a snowflake maybe, then a sheild, then the number 364 on the barrel. just under the scope is another number 17823. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me how to find out more about the gun. Maybe a price figure. Any help would wonderful. I thought it might be a sako but find nothing like it in the shooter bible. This gun also has two triggers.[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Two triggers usually means a set trigger and maybe a custom rifle. Could be just a custom trigger on a Sako though. Any chance of you posting pictures? Plan 'B' would be to post a description of all the markings. 0 -

You have to upload the photo's to a host site, than insert the URL of the photo there between the IMG tags. Hunt101 is one such site, but there are others out there. 
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -

so I don't have a url but would be willing to email the pics to someone who does. the markings are hard to describe one marking looks like a sheild with a bunch of cross hatching on it. The marking on the bolt looks like a lions face maybe. Then on the handle to the bolt and the back side of the gun there is a mushroom looking mark with a star in the middle. Also on the bottom of the bolt is three connected circles with a stem like a three leaf clover. 0 -

Went through my books on proof marks. The only thing I could find from your description
"one marking looks like a sheild with a bunch of cross hatching on it"
This describes the proof used in the Munich proof house, in what was then West Germany. As the book dates to 1975,I don't know if this proof, it is still in use?0 -
could this gun be a real find or just uncommon 0 -
